Home window film, without the sales fog.

Cost, darkness, privacy, glass compatibility, warranties, UV, energy, cleaning and cure time—explained clearly.

How much does residential window tinting cost?
Pricing depends on visible glass area, pane count, film, glass type, access and old-film removal. Use our instant estimator for a planning range; an onsite inspection determines the final written quote.
Will home window film make the house dark?
Only if you choose a darker film. Modern solar-control films range from nearly clear to noticeably tinted or reflective. We compare options so you can balance performance with daylight.
Can I see outside at night?
Usually yes with clear or lightly tinted solar film, although glass becomes more reflective when the room is brighter than outside.
Does privacy film work at night?
Frosted, opaque and blackout films provide dependable privacy regardless of lighting. Reflective daytime-privacy film does not provide reliable nighttime privacy when interior lights are on.
Will window film damage my windows or make glass crack?
The wrong film can increase thermal stress. Glass construction, coatings, edge condition, shading and orientation must be checked against manufacturer compatibility guidance.
Could film void my window warranty?
Window-manufacturer terms vary. We recommend reviewing the existing window warranty and the selected 3M film warranty before installation.
Can film be installed on double-pane or Low-E windows?
Often, yes, but not every film is compatible with every insulated or Low-E unit. The glass and coating location must be identified first.
How long does residential window film last?
Quality architectural film is designed to last for years, but useful life and warranty vary by product, glass, exposure, installation and climate.
How long does installation take?
A small group of accessible windows may take part of a day. Large panes, divided glass, high access or old-film removal can extend the schedule.
Can window tint reduce heat and energy bills?
Solar-control film can reduce heat entering through treated glass and may reduce cooling demand. Actual savings depend on the home, glass, exposure, HVAC and household habits, so no fixed savings percentage is promised.
How much UV does window film block?
Many quality films are rated to block up to 99% or more of UV depending on the exact product. Film can slow fading, but visible light, heat, humidity and material quality also contribute.
Can film be removed?
Yes. A professional can remove architectural film, although adhesive cleanup and removal time vary by product age and condition.
Is security film burglar-proof?
No. It may help hold glass together and delay access as part of a properly specified system, but it cannot guarantee prevention of entry, injury or property damage.
How do I clean tinted windows?
After curing, use a soft cloth or synthetic sponge and non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid blades, stiff brushes, abrasive powders and sharp tools.
Will small bubbles disappear after installation?
Temporary haze or small moisture pockets can appear while installation moisture cures. Persistent bubbles, debris or lifted edges should be inspected.
